This site is dedicated to unpacking what I think about… which is a lot. It is anything and everything that comes to mind about, well, anything! We’ve got trauma, jokes, hopefully some literary analysis at some point, hopefully also home improvement posts, you name it!
This content can be VERY triggering for a lot of people. If you are experiencing trauma yourself, I advise you to get help. See a therapist or a counselor to help you unpack all of your emotions. They’re there for you to scream and shout, and let it all out, so that you don’t lash out PERSONALLY at friends and family on facebook (from experience, oops.) It’s important to remember that they didn’t personally do this to you.
The very extra amount of links are everywhere for one of two reasons, or sometimes both:
1) Perspective. Is this a form of media that you’ve already consumed, but maybe not thought of in the way I’m suggesting? Music, funny memes, any form of art really, is generally trying to SAY something. Maybe it’s a little dense because someone is trying to be poetic or profound; maybe they’re worried about censorship and are hoping you read/listen to/learn the lyrics, not just to sing along in the car, but to feel some type of way. Whether it be profound realization, sadness, anger, guilt, sometimes it’s okay to let yourself feel.
2) Comedic relief. This is a literary device, often used in ‘dark’ comedy, to lighten the mood of a serious moment. Television, stand-up, and classic literature all use it. It is essentially a coping mechanism, because when you think on depressing subjects too long, you lose hope. If you’re not ready to face the anger of a situation, find a way to laugh about it. This has been my go-to way of dealing with hard truths and frustrations, and it still is. If we can’t laugh about a situation, how can we live with it?
Some of these posts may start out very angry. It is not my intent to piss any individual off, or make them feel attacked. Please try to see that and reflect. This site is for analysis and reflection for everyone.
Leave a comment if you have any questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them, or, if I have no personal experience in the matter I’ll ask a friend who can and post their response.
